Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home was established in July 1968, by the Wesley Methodist Church. After many years of service, Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home was relocated to its current site at 202, Serangoon Garden Way on 1st September 1984.
Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home houses children around the age of 5 to 16 years old. The home’s mission is to provide care and welfare to the disadvantaged children and children who need special aids. For now, the home has already reached out its warm hands to many children from different backgrounds, regardless of race and religion.
These children stay in the home for various reasons. For example, some of them might come from broken families while some can be from single-parent families. Hence, the home lend their help to these families by meeting the children their basic physical needs and further provides them a safe haven to learn, grow and play.
What do we do there?

We are there to provide one-to-one tuition service to the children range from primary 3 to primary 6. Basically, we teach them English, Maths, Science and even Chinese. Every kid has different assignments from the peers. He/she will inform you how task for the day and you will assist him/her your own way.
On top of the normal tuition service, we have a number of special events too. For instances, there is Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration, CSL Family day, CSL Chalets and many more…
Remember that doing a kind deed and volunteering is different. The latter requires some level of commitment from you. It is not about the attendance. Neither, is it about the CCA points or doing a kind deed in order for you to feel good. I will tell you what it is about. It is a promise that you made with a kid; a promise that you will accompany him/her once every week. However, we understand that as students, we will be occupied by our projects and assignments. But we’ll still try our very best to come them every week, as they really need help in their work too.
