T.H.E. (Touch the Hearts of the Elderly) Seniors is a volunteering programme that provides opportunities for volunteers to work regularly with the elderly. It is a joint project between NUS CSC and TOUCH Community Services (TCS). Every visit, we chat with the elderly and help with simple household chores. However, the most valuable thing required in this programme is passion. Our elderly look forward to each visit and often, they expect little more than a listening ear.
Besides what we do during regular visits, we have special activities during special occasions, such as the Chinese New Year when we spend time making lanterns together with the elder to decorate their homes, or hold workshops for volunteers within the year. Do check it out!
